Dell to Ship Roxio Video Software in OEM deal
Roxio, Inc., based in Santa Clara, California, and Dell Computer Corporation announced on Tuesday a venture where Dell will ship its computers pre-loaded with Roxio's new video-editing and DVD-burning software. Roxio's "VideoWave Movie Creator" software will be bundled with Dell's video software for computer shipments for this holiday season. Dell is reportedly the first computer manufacturer to enter into an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) deal with Roxio for its "VideoWave Movie Creator" software, although Roxio has other OEM deals with computer manufacturers for Roxio's CD-burning software. Roxio's shares jumped more than 30% after this announcement, which was made one day prior to the Federal Bankruptcy Court's approval of Roxio's acquisition of Napster's assets. Roxio appears to be on a roll!
