Dell Passes Sun in Server Sales
Computer giant Dell’s server sales rose in the third quarter, overtaking Sun Microsystems Inc. for the No. 3 position, according to a Gartner research report released Wednesday.
Dell’s worldwide server revenue jumped to $1.16 billion, a 17 percent increase over the same period last year. By comparison, Sun’s total server sales fell 2.7 percent to $1.13 billion, according to Gartner.
