Dude... Your Dell is on fire: Dell laptop catches fire during conference
It looks like one laptop user is lucky to be alive after his Dell laptop caught on fire during a conference in Japan. A reader of The Inquirer recounted the incident and snapped two amazing pictures of the fully engulfed laptop with stunned attendees and hotel staff. The exact model has not yet been determined.
According to the reader, the laptop was on fire and exploded several times for five minutes. Except for some frayed nerves, the owner of the Dell was unharmed.
Back in December, Dell recalled 22,000 laptop batteries for 18 models of Inspiron, Latitude, Precision and XPS Gen 2 laptops. The batteries were at risk of overheating and catching fire. Three cases were reported.
