Dell has expanded its recycling efforts worldwide and now offers free recycling of its products in Asia, Brazil, and Mexico. Customers will be able to either recycle or donate old computers to support local non-profit organizations. According to Dell, it is the first computer make to have such a far-reaching program.

Recycling services were added to Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand. The company already had such services in Brazil, China, India, South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan.

Eric Gates, Dell’s worldwide manager of asset recovery services, says, "With today’s announcement, our efforts to make recycling free and easy are global. We remain focused on raising consumer awareness about the importance of recycling and increasing the volume of products we recover from consumers,"

Dell hopes to recover 125 million kilograms of computers and peripherals by the end of 2009.
