Dell delivers wireless networking
Dell Computer has announced a high-speed wireless networking product for the home.
Developed by Dell and Aironet Wireless Communications, the Dell 4800LT wireless networking kit could link up to 15 PCs, allowing users, for example, to roam around the house with a notebook PC while surfing the Web, or let a desktop user to send a document to a printer in another room.
The 11Mb product operates on a high bandwidth radio frequency with a range of up to 150 feet, allowing PCs to share Internet access. Users could also employ the network for online gaming or sharing video, Dell officials said.
The prices will be $179 for the desktop card and $139 for the notebook card.
