A monitor featuring a flat cathode ray tube (CRT) display based on Sony's new FD Trinitron technology is now available from Dell Computer.
The Dell UltraScan P780 17" display supports up to 1280 x 1024 resolution at a 75Hz refresh rate with a .24-.25mm variable AG pitch. It can be bundled with any Dell desktop PC or workstation, and is also available separately for $374.
FD Trinitron display technology provides minimal glare and distortion, and excellent image quality and color reproduction. Dell-branded monitors will be among the earliest displays in the market to incorporate the new technology, first introduced in the U.S. last year with the flat screen FD Trinitron Sony Wega televisions.
Dell plans to offer the a 19- and 21" versions of the monitor later this year.
