Dealers angered by Apple retail news
Recent news, as yet unverified by Apple Computer Inc., that the company plans to open a string of retail stores, has angered Mac resellers who have been assured by the company that it had no plans to directly compete with them. A recent story in the San Jose Mercury news has it that Apple's first retail outlet will be located in Palo Alto, California. At an October 23 meeting of Apple Specialist store managers, Apple Senior VP, Tim Cook, assured retailers that the company would stay out of direct store front sales.
