DDR ALADDiN-P4 Chipset
Acer (ALi), is now showing off the ALADDiN-P4 DDR/SDR chipset. ALi says the ALADDiN-P4 supports up to a 400 MHz system bus to achieve 3.2 GB/sec bandwidth and will support memory types ranging from PC-133 to DDR 333. ALADDiN-P4 also throws in 4X AGP and equips its southbridge to support new high-speed ATA devices. The ALADDiN-P4 chipset is sampling now and will be in volume production in October 2001. It is in a BGA package with 629 balls and a 37.5 x 37.5mm form factor. The chipset will be priced at $31 in mass quantities.
