Dungeons and Dragons Online stress testing begins

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Lovers of the classic Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game will finally get a massively multiplayer online game. Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) will be undergoing stress testing this next week. The game is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2006.

The stress test is conducted by IGN and Fileplanet. Turbine Inc. is developing the game and Atari will publish the finished version. Many gamers will try to max out the game’s servers by logging in and playing.

For most online games, this is one of the final steps before the game’s official release. This test is part of a larger beta test that has been going on for a few weeks. A limited number of people have been trying out the game and some of the accounts have sold on eBay for several hundred dollars.

DDO’s official release date and pricing has not been announced.
