Cutting to the Chase : Chaser
Chaser is a science fiction-based FPS with a lot of action taking place on Earth around 2050, a future near enough for the setting to feel familiar, even though things do seem to have changed a bit in fifty years. At first sight, Chaser looks like just another FPS with the usual multiplayer options. But played solo, its scenario is original and well put together. It turns out to be fairly long, something of a rarity these days in games of this sort, which are more often designed for network play. Furthermore, Chaser has variety in its gameplay. Though most of the missions are fairly conventional, they are interspersed with more unusual incidents such as infiltration operations, defense of a weapons depot, protection of a convoy and even underwater adventures.

Chaser is the name of the character you play in the solo game. He is a man who has lost his memory; he does not know where he is, who he is or how he got to where he is. But one thing's for sure, someone is out to get him, and how! He has been injured and comes to in the infirmary aboard HMS Majestic - a huge space station in orbit round the Earth. The game gets off to a resounding start with some really nasty uniformed guys who invade the Majestic, shooting at everything that moves. They are looking for someone and this is where your trouble starts. Unarmed, you have to get out and find an escape module before the entire base explodes. You race frantically along the vessel's gangways where gangs of enemies are lurking. Happily, there are quite a few things you can pick up to defend yourself with. But the explosions remind you not to hang around too long. This first episode in the game is typical Chaser. The story is good, directed but not unduly so, and leaves you no time to catch your breath!

Who is this Chaser you play in the game and why are they after him?
