A Dating Site Made Just for Apple Fans (iDate?)

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

The first step in the breeding of Apple fans.

We all know how annoying fanboys can be, be they from either side of the camp. Now a new dating site is in the works to pair Apple fanboys with Apple fangirls.

The dating site is called Cupidtino, a play on Apple's headquarters' location in Cupertino, Calif. and is set to launch June 2010. For now, this notice is displayed on the site:

Cupidtino is a beautiful new dating site created for fans of Apple products by fans of Apple products! Why? Diehard Mac & Apple fans often have a lot in common – personalities, creative professions, a similar sense of style and aesthetics, taste, and of course a love for technology. We believe these are enough reasons for two people to meet and fall in love, and so we created the first Mac-inspired dating site to help you find other Machearts around you.

Cupidtino will launch in June 2010 exclusively on Apple platforms – Safari, iPhone and iPad apps. It’s time to share the love.

Definitely a very strange angle, though not completely new given that Trek Passions operates personals for science fiction fans.

Cupidtino is an embarrassing new dating site created for Apple fanboys by Apple fanboys! Why? Diehard Mac & Apple fanboys are often exactly the same – annoying personalities, pretentious professions, a non-existent sense of style and aesthetics, no taste, and of course a complete lack of understanding about technology. We believe these are enough reasons for two fanboys to meet and fall in love, and so we created the first Mac-inspired dating site to help you find other fundamentalists around you.

Unfortunately, Cupidtino is not a joke and will launch exclusively on Apple platforms – Safari, iPhone and iPad apps. It’s time to share the fanaticism.

A relationship between two Mactards must be immensely hard to sustain. Constant fights about time in the Shrine to Jobs will put serious strain on the relationship...

So, like, Apple will have it's own Pure Race army in a couple of generations?

this is great, we can see natural selection at work, a whole sub-species may emerge, with cute looking little people, vacuous on the inside but with apples (with bites out) on their foreheads. It will be easier to spot (and then avoid) them. Win!

Hehehe.

I'd love to see similar sites for people with a love and passion for, for example, a particular brand of beer, DVD player or chocolate bar.

My god, in years past people had this sort of devotion to their country or tribal grouping. It says a lot about why the word needs to be smacked by a big asteroid, in my opinion...
