Chicago Cubs bullpen goes wireless

by - source: Tom's Hardware

It has taken a while for baseball stadiums to catch up with modern technologies, but Motorola today said that it will "ushering" Major League Baseball into the wireless age with the league’s first wireless bullpen phone system. The technology was introduced at the Cubs’ home Wrigley Field during a 13 June game against the Houston Astros.

Motorola expects the system, named "Mototalk," to move to the wireless system after reviewing the performance at Wrigley. The handsets work on a private channel and its software allows each handset to only communicate with a partner handset ensuring a secure conversation between the dugout and bullpen.
