CSR writes chip contracts with two Japanese coms
Cambridge Silicon Radio will supply inexpensive, single-chip products to Alps and Mitsumi for use in mobile phones, PC adaptor cards and other consumer products. The deal is touted as a breakthrough for CSR because the Japanese market is the world's leader in adoption of mobile phones, PDAs and other wireless technologies. As the likely testing ground of the Bluetooth standard, it could provide an opportunity for CSR to gain market position.
