Crysis 2 Screenshots Will Blow Your Mind (and GPU)
But can it play Crysis 2?
Looking for PC gaming eye candy? Believe it or not, after all these years, Crysis is still among the top for eye-popping, GPU and CPU smokin' visuals. Now Crytek is back for round two with the first official screenshots for Crysis 2.
The two screenshots below first appeared in the Crymod forums, which provided the following description:
Taking place in New York city, Crysis 2 brings highly vertical gameplay to the table, made possible with the Nanosuit 2, developed by Crynet Systems.
The first of these images includes a Nanosuit-clad character in an all-too-familiar pose, with a backdrop of destruction as the city is laid to waste.
The second features Crynet Ops infantry in combat with the Nanosuit 2 whilst the city crumbles down around them, for reasons that will be revealed in due time.
Here are some of the previously released screenshots, all of which are quite unbelievable.

GOD ALMIGHTY!!! It's boner-inspiringly gorgeous. As of this moment I'm saving up for as much number-crunching GPU goodness as I can stuff into my PC, just so I can play this.
Let the countdown to the "can it play crysis2" spam begin >:3
i think i will have to grab another 5850 for cross-fire just for this!!!!!!!
it will be shite just like the 1st 2 games, all graphics and no game play.
typical shite of today
oh and another things its only a game to make you upgrade and spend money, its a joke
Good we need something to help push Gpu's forward. However im guessing this will play just as well on low end cards, at lower settings obviously but teh first crysis was very playable on lower end hardware and i dont see why this should be any differant.

Cant wait!!!!!
First Crysis was brilliant one of the only Shooters I have played through twice, hoping I can play this when it comes out, looks superb.
Hikg crpt! Sorry just choked on my own tongue.
These are definitly worthy of being my new background.
C'mon specs! I'll definitly need a new rig for this.
Will it run on my onboard video? lol.
Seriously..I hope the gameplay and overall stability can match the quality of the visuals. Remember GTA IV's issues?
If Crytek do a better job programming the engine this won't elicit the "but will it play Crysis" shite again - make it downscalable like Valve did with Source, and make full use of DX11 tessellation to ramp up the quality for the top-end users.
But the first Crysis was fine.I played it through on a machine with a 3000+ Athalon and 2GB Ram and a X1650XT. Granted it was a long way off of looking as pretty as it could have with a higher end card, but it was still easily the best looking game i played on that PC.I played it again on a 3850 which was night and day and again on a 4770 which was better yet.
Point is it was in my opinion coded well enough as long as you didnt expect to max settings out on lower speced hardware.
The software has to chalenge the hardware or else we just stagnate. We are at a point where the GPU's can pretty much handle anything and so we need another hardware breaking title to push things forward again.

Will my GTX 260M run it? I don't think so...
Damn you Crytek for making me now want to buy a new desktop..
super nice looking but I still hate that nanosuit... hated it in the first game too *sigh* always good killing some trees for sheer fun
Pre Renderd rubbish. Dont expect the game to look anything like this.
all these years? Crysis came out in November 2007. That's 2 years.
meh, nothing that impressive... hope they improve the textures
I don't seem to hear any fanboys sayin "fwah cryengine 2 is better hahaha, i am retarded because 4 year old technology is better than 1 year old technology" this game looks sweet hpefully plays sweet and well its obvious to see the PC version will atleast be the best Graphic game in existence
First thought after viewing the first screenshot - "Hmmm how can I organise the cash for a new top end PC" second thought "When will Fermi be available"
You can already see a trailer of how Crysis 2 and Farcry 3 will look like in YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICj [...] re=related
I hope this game comes out in the winter. Its very handy to be able to use my machine to heat the whole house as well as play on. Hope it doesn't have any DRM. Hope it doesn't have the made for consoles as well feel.
looks good!
