Crypto marketers exploit Carnivore
Criticism of the FBI's controversial and somewhat mysterious e-mail surveillance system by sources ranging from the U.S. Congress to Internet Privacy groups and the American Civil Liberties Union has generated enormous media attention. Sellers of e-mail encryption products have seized upon the public's recent awareness of e-tap activities to repackage their crypto products. ChainMail, the company that produced Mithril to encrypt email, has renamed their product Antivore. Privada produces a program that is says will allow an ISP to comply with FBI subpoenas without violating its clients' privacy.
