CRTC pushes for digital TV
The CRTC wants to speed up the switchover of the Canadian television system to digital technology, and to do this it will force cable and satellite companies to carry both analogue and digital services during the transition period. "The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission said yesterday that when any television station begins digital broadcasting, in addition to its conventional signal, cable and satellite firms must carry both."
