Critics attack BT's claim to own Web links
A Salon.com writer explains why she thinks that British Telecom's claim to own hypertext links is in error and includes links to information about Ted Nelson. Nelson coined the phrase "hypertext" and built the Hypertext Editing System in 1967, nine years before BT filed its claim. A related story in the UK's The Register suggests that BT could be the target of legal actions because of the bills they've sent out to ISPs.
