Craigslist Helps Rescue Cat From A True
Denver (CO) - Apparently Craigslist can help rescue a stuck cat better than the local fire or animal control department. Denver resident Matt Slaby posted the online ad after a stray cat got itself stuff in a 60-foot tall tree for five days. Slaby had called the local authorities including the fire department, animal control and tree cutting services, but those organizations either refused or wanted to charge a fee.
The Craigslist ad was a catalyst for a story in The Denver Post and the owner of a nearby tree-trimming service responded by driving 30 miles with his bucket truck to rescue the feline. One of the neighborhood kids will now adopt the cat.
Oh and if you’re wondering, Slaby did pay for the man’s gasoline - a very nice gesture considering that stuff isn’t cheap these days.
