Corning introduces environmentally friendly glass substrate
Corning announced on March 21 the commercial launch of its Eagle XG glass substrate, which the company claims is the industry’s first LCD glass substrate to be free of all heavy metals. In announcing the environmentally friendly LCD glass, James P. Clappin, president, display technologies stated Corning was able to create customer value through the minimization of potential costs related to environmental regulations and recycling challenges.
