Corel to sell Linux group

by - source: Tom's Hardware

According to sources cited by ZDNet, the Canadian Corel Corp. may soon sell its Linux division to New York venture capitalist firm Linux Global Partners. Corel CEO Derek Burney had insisted at Comdex/Fall that Corel would maintain support for Linux after the departure of Linux booster and ex-CEO Michael Cowpland.

In a related story, a Wired writer notes the irony of the fact that the strongest supporters of the once counter-culture operating system may be the biggest corporations, where the job of Linux Evangelist has entered the lingo of H.R. managers.
