Corel expected to sell Linux group
The Canadian Corel Corp. is expected to sell its Linux division as part of an effort to keep the company operating. Analysts believe the company's official unveiling of its corporate strategy, on January 23, will include the sale of their Linux business, a refocusing on graphics and office suite software and closer ties with Microsoft Corp. The Redmond company has already invested $135 million in Corel and has a commitment from Corel to work on its .NET project.
