US and Europe to drive copper tools growth
The proportion of front-end IC production equipment purchase devoted to copper tools has grown steadily over the last two years, with the ratio growing to 8 percent in 2005 up from 7 percent in 2004, according to market research firm Information Network. This ratio should further increase to 15 percent in 2008 with US- and Europe-based chipmakers driving the growth.
