Confessed Dutch virus creator released
Dutch police have released the 20-year-old man who apparently turned himself in for writing the Anna Kournikova virus that spread through Microsoft Outlook to clutter e-mail servers all over the world. The man lives in the town of Sneek, Netherlands, with his parents and could serve as much as four years in prison.
Thursday, he posted apologies on his Website, including, "I regret writing that virus... That's why I turned myself in." He also wrote that it only took him a few minutes to write the virus using VBS Worm Generator.
