Concern about Intel Springdale licensing rising among Taiwan chipset designers
The technology licensing issue in the chipset industry is surfacing again with Intel's introduction of its new Hyper-Threading Technology and the 800MHz FSB (front-side bus) standard for the upcoming Springdale platform. It is believed that Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) will be most hard-hit among the three chipset designers if all of them fail to obtain the license.
