Computex: Taiwan Manufacturers Back P4/RDRAM Combo
Even though Via and Acer (and even Intel, to a certain extent) are supporting P4/DDR SDRAM combos, it doesn't do anyone much good if we don't see any P4 motherboards that use DDR RAM. Rambus grabbed bragging rights today at Computex by announcing that ASUSTek, Gigabyte, and Micro-Star are bringing out 4-layer P4 motherboards that support two RDRAM channels that they think will compete on price with SDRAM motherboards. No word yet on pricing or model numbers, only that the boards are on their way. Get extended Computex show coverage by signing on for Tom's Hard Newsletter here .
