Computex Speaks About Postponement Situation To Exhibitors

by - source: Tom's Hardware

As you know by now, Computex will be postponed, not canceled as some have suggested. Jeffrey Hong, who is the Computex project manager sent this out to all of the exhibitors yesterday. We have reprinted it below to give you a better idea of what is happening.

Dear Exhibitor,

First, I would like to thank you for your support for COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003.

Due to the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) around the world, many exhibitors have asked us to postpone or cancel COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003 because increased travel restrictions would negatively influence buyer turn out.

We have collected and listened to the suggestions from exhibitors and after a detailed review of all factors, the organizers have decided to postpone COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003 to the last half of 2003. The exact days of the new schedule will be announced by the end of May.

Meanwhile, we will keep you informed with updates on COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via e-mail at computex@cetra.org.tw.

Best regards,

Jeffrey Hong

While the effect of the postponement of Computex is difficult to estimate at the moment, we will continue to monitor the situation.
