Computex: Giga-Byte Dual Athlon Motherboard
We've seen a boatload of product announcements at Computex, but relatively few motherboards. We definitely need boards that support multiple processors and Giga-Byte let us know that they are now supplying one for MP-capable Athlons. The GA-7DPXDW mobo is set up for the new Athlon MP processor and the AMD-760 MP multiprocessing chipset. It supports 266MHz FSB and has four PC2100 DDR memory slots for up to 4GB of memory. It also has two 64b/66MHz and three 32b/33MHz PCI slots, 1 AGP Pro slot, and an Intel 82559 LAN and Promise 20265/20267 RAID controller for IDE RAID 0,1 0+1 support. No pricing info and no pictures are available yet. Hmmm, more DDR. Get extended Computex show coverage by signing on for Tom's Hard Newsletter here .
