Computex: 640MB CompactFlash From Pretec
Pretec Electronics says its new CompactFlash card is currently the largest available in the world. After seeing how many companies have been getting involved in increasing the capacity of the cards, we'd say they basically have the horse race by a nose for today. Pretec says the card has been tested and approved by Eastman Kodak Company to work with Kodak Professional DCS760 (3032 x 2008, 6 megapixel) and DCS Pro Back (4080 x 4080; 16 megapixel) digital cameras running current firmware. An industrial and military grade 640MB CF card is also available from Pretec, complete with full metal protection and an operating temperature range of -40°C - 125°C. That's definitely a new one...
