Digital surveillance with a bunch of bells and whistles
Surveillance camera technology has been taken to a new level with AverMedia's Digital Video Recorder (DVR). You don't have to worry about running out of tapes because it records surveillance video to a hard-drive. The DVR comes in a stand-alone model RT4000 and the DX7000 which requires an external storage device.
The DVR can handle up to 16 cameras. It can simultaneously playback and record. Recording can be set on automatic, on a schedule, or when motion is detected. Months of recorded video can be stored as MPEG4 is used to compress it.
The mask feature will only record a certain spot on the camera, while the shield feature will record everything EXCEPT the spot you select. This is useful when you want to monitor an office, but don't want to record a computer screen. All video is watermarked to prevent counterfeit images and to improve admissibility in court.
Video can be streamed over the Internet. One great feature is support for Dynamic DNS, which allows client computers to automatically find the DVR.
