Acard's Bridges Storage Interface Gaps

Finally, Acard now offers RAID 5 solutions for Serial ATA as well.
Acard is well-known for its SCSI-to-IDE bridges and controllers for each of those two interfaces. A very interesting new device is its SATA-to-IDE adapter AEC-7900A that supports both UltraATA and ATAPI devices. Hence, any parallel ATA optical drive can now be operated at a Serial ATA port.
Acard has also debuted two RAID 5 storage adapters. The first is an SATA version called the AEC-6896. The second, the AEC-6897, runs UltraATA/133. Both use Acard's ATP867 controller chip, feature four channels and use a 64 bit 66 MHz PCI interface. Acard supports all Windows operating systems as well as Red Hat and Suse Linux.
In addition to the new storage controllers, Acard also offers a Fibre Channel HBA (see image below).

The 6290A is a Serial ATA controller for two ports. Note that it supports ATAPI commands as well, making it suitable for upcoming optical devices with an SATA interface.
