ComputerNerd warrants overclocked Athlons
ComputerNerd USA says it has made a significant investment in a new precision micro-manipulation production facility to modify Athlon processors for higher performance.
The company's modified 500MHz Athlon CPU - dubbed "Nerdlon" - is available at speeds of 600MHz, 650MHz and 700MHz. It is sold only with a FAK7X2B cooling device permanently attached to the Nerdlon's aluminum faceplate, using a high thermal conductivity interface material.
ComputerNerd is guaranteeing the performance and longevity of the Nerdlon by offering a 3-year replacement warranty - an industry first, according to the company.
