Compaq Presario to use DDR memory
Compaq Computer has unveiled its Presario Series 7000z model 7QS running on Advanced Micro Devices' 1 GHz to 1.2 GHz Athlon processors using DDR SDRAM memory technology. The company is promoting DDR SDRAM as an advantage when working with graphic-intensive applications or digital content. Compaq is the largest computer maker yet to implement the DDR technology. NEC France and Micron Technology put out systems with DDR memory last last year.
7000z prices start at $1,299 with a 17" monitor. With recordable DVD drive, prices start at $2,499.
