Compaq posts fix for frozen Presarios

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Compaq is encouraging users with 5800 and 5900 series PCs to install a pair of software updates to fix a BIOS problem causing the systems to lock up.

Compaq has posted the files to its Web site, allowing Presario users to update their PCs' BIOS software.

The company also recommends that users attempt to improve their system performance by reducing the number of applications running in background to free up system resources.
