Compaq cutting distributors
Compaq Computer will announce Monday that it is paring down its ranks of wholesale distributors.
The move is part of an ongoing effort by Compaq to gain control of an unwieldy distribution system, which analysts have named as a key contributor to the shortfall in Compaq's first quarter financial results.
