Comic book creator sues a bunch of media companies
The creator of the comic series Ghost Rider has filed a lawsuit over games and movies that use his character. The defendants include Columbia Tristar Motion Pictures, Relativity Media, Crystal Sky Pictures, Hasbro, Take-Two Interactive, and Michael De Luca Productions.
Gary Friedrich says each of these companies created a "joint venture and conspiracy to exploit, profit from and utilize" the Ghost Rider character, to which he claims he owns all the copyrights.
The suit cites a total of 21 claims of copyright infringement resulting from a recent Ghost Rider movie that was also made into a video game.
Friedrich is seeking monetary damages for a myriad of claims from copyright infringement and negligence to "tortuous interference with prospective business expectancy."
