Comcast profit surges on new digital services
Comcast Corp., the top U.S. cable operator, said on Thursday its quarterly profit rose nearly fivefold, boosted by growth in high-speed Internet subscribers and surging demand for new digital video services.
First-quarter net profit rose to $313 million, or 14 cents a share, from $65 million, or 3 cents a share, a year earlier.
