Samsung CLP-510
Samsung CLP-510

Innovative with its built-in duplex-printing module, the CLP-510 is positioned as a real challenger on the market for color laser printers. However it has some disadvantages that are related to its flexibility of use -in particular a large footprint.

Ergonomics And Functions

Weighing in at over 79 lbs. (36 kg), the Samsung CLP-510 is hands down the heaviest entry-level color laser printer on the market. But there's an explanation for the extra weight: This is the only model in this price range that offers a duplexing unit as standard. It's very effective, and though it can increase the risk of paper jams due to the more complex path the paper takes through the engine, it's ideal for printing large documents while saving paper.
Samsung has turned the imposing size of the printer to its advantage by locating the toner cartridges one on top of the other, facilitating replacement. There's no need to rotate a carousel to access the cartridge that needs changing, as on the Epson, Dell, and Canon models. Note also that this is the only model compatible with Windows, MacOS and Linux, since Samsung has developed its own page-description language based on GDI.
