CMO said to give up on 6G LCD production
Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) may give up constructing a sixth-generation (6G) LCD plant amid slow panel demand and rapid growth of panels for over-40" TVs, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times.
Equipment makers were quoted as indicating that CMO has not yet placed equipment orders for the plant despite the originally equipment delivery schedule is slated to be the second quarter of 2007.
