Aten Master View CS-122: Outdated And Clunky Design

The design of Master View CS-122 is reminiscent of the 1980s, when computer hardware was still largely gray and colorless. The heavy metal box shimmers in beige and looks as if the thing has already been used extensively by a chain-smoker. At nearly 1.2 kilograms (2.6 lbs.) the Aten CS-122 is one of the heaviest and largest two-way switching boxes in the test group. The two mouse ports located on the back are also particularly quaint and are still geared for serial mice.

However, for keyboards, the Master View CS-122 does at least employ PS/2 connections. The Aten KVM has additional PS/2 connectors located on the side, which gives the impression that these were built in retroactively. The necessary cables are not included in the package with the KVM switching box.

A time trip: The CS-122 appearing in a design typical of the 80's.

Here, you can still connect "prehistoric" mice to a serial port.

For those who no longer have AT mice, PS/2 mice can also be used alternatively.
