CLI shows new version of Delta II keypad for cellphones
We have been following the development of a new keypad for cellphones from Chicago Logic (CLI) for quite a while now. The company now presented a new prototype of the miniaturized version of a QWERTY-keyboard in the size of a business card. Dana Suess, president of CLI, said the new 35-button keypad (plus 11 navigation keys) is about as wide as a typical 12-button cellphone keypad.
As previously reported, users appear to be typing much quicker on the Delta II as on standard cellphone keyboards. Suess claims that users achieve about 21-28 words per minute out of the box and about 32 words per minute after 30 minutes of use - which is about four times the typing speed of typical users on common cellphones.
