Cisco Systems Posts Revenue Increase of 12%
Cisco Systems, the leading supplier of network infrastructure equipment, has announced that its revenue for Q2 is up from $4.3 billion in Q2 of last year, to $4.8 billion, an increase of 12%. The increased revenue was not from capital expenditures, which are still weak, but came from other growing markets such as education, retail, banking, and federal government agencies. For Q2, Cisco also posted net income of $772 million (vs. $7 million in Q2, 2001), and cash and equivalents of $21.5 billion, compared with $21 billion at the end of Q1, 2002.
