After the fierce price war in the Pentium 4 chipset market in the first half, chipset designers are now redirecting their focus back to the more profitable Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)-platform sector, hoping to receive a better profit margin. However, as chipset companies gear up for the market in the second half, a new price battle seems inevitable.
