Chipset delay could affect Rambus launch
Intel chipsets supporting the new 800-MHz Direct Rambus DRAM interface will be delayed until at least the third quarter.
Quoting a prominent Wall Street analyst, TechWeb reports that a new version of the Intel 820 or "Camino" chipset will not ship until about three months after its scheduled June introduction date. Among other features, the Intel 820 is the first to include an interface for Direct Rambus DRAM.
