China mobile phone subscribers at nearly 481 million in March

There were 480.65 million subscribers of mobile communication services in China as of the end of March 2007, growing by 1.42% on month and by 17.32% on year, according to statistics published recently by China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII) on its Chinese-language web site. The number of subscribers at the end of March represented 35.3% of China's population.
