China imported record value of $19.05 billion in technology in 2005
Imports of technology into China in 2005 consisted of 9,902 contracts with a total value of $19.05 billion, both historical highs, with the number of contracts and total value growing from 2004 by 15.1% and 37.5%, respectively, according to news released last week by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
Of the total import value of technology, $8.27 billion, or 43.4%, was due to foreign enterprises operating in China, with the value rising by 23.6% from 2004.
