China to capture 15 percent of global TFT LCD panel market by 2010
TFT LCD panel shipments from China-based makers are likely to account for 15% of the global market by 2010, as the region already has fifth-generation (5G) and more advanced plants in full production and construction of two or three 5G lines will be completed in the near future, DisplayBank stated.
Chinese TFT panel makers currently account for only about 2% of the industry’s shipments, but improving yields of Beijing BOE Optoelectronics Technology (BOE OT) and the 5G line operation of Shanghai SVA-NEC Liquid Crystal Display (SVA-NEC) should help boost the proportion of panels coming from China.
