Sub Assembly Process
The sub assembly process focuses on joining the metal pieces together. There are a variety of ways to get this done, such as spot welding, projection welding, and riveting, for example. Once this process is complete, you have the basic frame of the case; but until the other processes are complete, the case is not yet ready to build.

This is the rivet line. As you will see, there are two types of riveting that take place here, both single and multiple (automatic) riveting. When the metals have been stamped and finished, there are multiple pieces that must be joined together to form the final case.

The automatic riveting rig that allows multiple rivets to be made at one time. Here the front of the case is being riveted.

The single riveting is done to join close or single areas of the case. In this picture the employee is riveting sections around the drive cages.
