Chaintech launches GeForce 6800 Apogee with 2.5ns memory
Grpahics card maker Chaintech said it has launched a new Nvidia GeForce 6800-based board that uses faster 2.5ns memory instead of the the common 2.8ns versions. The "Apogee" also includes an "upgraded" cooling fan thate nabled the company to ship the cards with a 10 percent increased core and memory clock - to 358 MHz and 660 MHz, respectively. According to Chaintech, two Apogees in SLI mode will achieve about 80 percent more performance than a single card. Pricing and availability details have not been announced yet. (THG)
