SanDisk, Continued
The Cruzer memory stick is now out, and is already up for best-design awards. This stick is good for rough-and-tumble everyday use, and its housing is of premium-quality.
Cruzer Profile is not a successor, though it is an evolutionary product with multiple usages. The top surface of the stick can be removed, revealing a sensor for reading fingerprint data. The data is not stored optically however; instead, all you have to do for identification is pass your finger over the sensor field.
SanDisk also includes software allowing the stick to be used as a security device in Windows, so that a workstation can only be unlocked with Cruzer Profile plugged in and a recognized fingerprint. The Cruzer Profile's chief application, however, is securing data stored on the stick by means of fingerprint identification.
