SD-Card Viewer With 3.45" OLED Display
Users who often shoot photos with a digital camera typically would like to take a quick glance at their photos while they are on the go to check up on quality. The disadvantage: The TFT display on the camera's backside not only consumes vast amounts of power, it is also difficult to see in strong light outdoors.
To alleviate that problem in the mid term, Toshiba introduces the so-called SD Card Viewer with an integrated OLED display. The prototype presented during the CeBIT, in essence, consists of an accumulator-powered SD Card Reader with an integrated 3.45" OLED display.

In comparison to the PDAs typically used in transflective displays, organic LED displays offer the advantage that they not only deliver lighter and sharper high-contrast pictures, but also are said to "use" less power. With a display diagonal of 3.5", Toshiba's OLED display is nearly as large the TFT displays in PDAs, boasting diagonals of 3.5" to 4". Currently, the SD Card Viewer is just a dream for the future, as the power consumption and the durability of the display pose a hurdle for mass production, especially when considering the status quo in development.
